A great day out at the Berkeley Show
Families flocked to the annual Berkeley Show for a day of traditional countryside entertainment.
Thousands poured through the turnstiles in the meadow below Berkeley Castle to see cattle, sheep and pigs being judged, including rare breeds such as Gloucester cattle.
Horses and ponies were put through their paces in ridden, driven and in-hand classes, with gymkhana games and showjumping keeping the crowds entertained.
Among those taking home prizes were Moya Bangham, of Horfield, Bristol, who won her carriage-driving class with her pony Saltmarsh Buccaneer, otherwise known as Robbie.
Working horses in harness were paraded in the main ring, along with a procession of old tractors taken along by members of the Sodbury Vale branch of the National Vintage Tractor and Engine Club.
There was also a dog show, terrier racing, a display by the Little Stoke-based Harriers Acrobatic Gymnastics group and live music from the Dr Jazz musicians, the Bristol medics who perform to raise money for health-related projects.
