New Zealand will have first call on Gloucestershire's Franklin, says skipper Vettori

Friday, October 23, 2009, 07:00

New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori has warned Gloucestershire that Black Caps overseas star James Franklin might not be able to commit his services to a full season of county cricket next summer.

"James is fully committed to Gloucestershire but for all of our players international cricket takes precedence," Vettori said.

"If our itinerary clashes with the 2010 county season James will be required to play for New Zealand.

"The diary is clear so far but you never know given the amount of international cricket being scheduled."
