In-form Rocks face cup test
AFTER winning four successive Division One West games, Tytherington Rocks turn their attention back to the cup this weekend, when they host Finchampstead in the Bluefin Sports Supplementary Challenge Cup.
The Rocks closed the gap on leaders Brimscombe & Thrupp to ten points last weekend, only for the leaders to extend their advantage with a win in midweek.
Tytherington boss Gary Powell said: "It's a bit frustrating, in that we have a cup game this weekend and then, as it stands, no game at all next weekend. We haven't lost in the league since November, so we're in good form, but, for all that good momentum, we now have two weeks without a league game."
Tytherington won 2-1 at Cricklade Town last weekend, although some of the gloss was taken off their victory when Justin Bishop was sent off for the second time this season.

"One of their players spat at one of ours after we scored, and Justin saw it and reacted – both players were sent off," said Powell. "Judging by what our secretary has told me, I think he's going to miss five games, which would be a massive loss, as he's been playing well for us."
Tytherington are without Aston Newman and Jason Wood for tomorrow's game against Division One East side Finchampstead.
