I fear they are a constant threat
WE'VE had two incidents both with connection to meteors and asteroids in space which seem to be too much of a coincidence.
We had an announcement of a meteor the size of an Olympic swimming pool, some 50 metres in size, a big enough lump which could have turned London into a total wreck.
We were assured of a miss but an isolated town in Russia suffered after a different meteor struck causing 250 injuries. This brings about a worrying possibility. What if it's not the last meteor strike to take place, what if what we've been told is just the mere tip of the iceberg?
I've got a paper-round in Bristol and I've seen a great number of vapour trails of aircraft at 30,000 feet. I'm guessing that there are RAF Tornado and Typhoon Interceptors equipped with amram missiles to intercept if necessary.

But I don't think the threat of meteors has gone yet, I think it still persists and I don't think we should lower any guard yet.

“I used to have to cycle a fair bit on my paper round too, but 30,000 feet seems a bit much. I hope they give you a good tip at Christmas.”
