T HIS disgusting eyesore is one reason to disallow any more city redevelopment until our council gets to grips with properly overseeing completion of future schemes.

It is now almost five months since the contractor responsible for the demolition of Horfield Lodge, Kellaway Avenue, Horfield and the building of a new learning difficulties unit shown in the background of the picture, a vast improvement to the area.

Unfortunately a temporary tarmac road was allowed to be laid across the Wellington Hill playing field (now designated a village green).

When the building was completed all site huts and heavy plant machinery were removed and road torn up revealing a very rough sunken rubble substructure.

To date this has only very partially been relaid with top soil.

Sympathetic local councillors have attempted to get the work completed so far to no avail.
