The evil that men do outlives them
UPON reading about Jimmy Savile (Post, October 12) the first allegations all those years ago should have been reported and investigated right away (whether true or not).
The poor victims, children/adults did not deserve such treatment in places where he was allowed to prey on his victims at his will.
And no one stopped and questioned him. He was treated like a god. Why was it covered up?
Members of staff in these places knew full well what was going on why did they not report it when they should have been protecting the ones under their care.

What were they afraid of? He was no man, he was a monster. A blackmailer perhaps?
Perhaps even the victims were blackmailed into silence. Perhaps worried of tainting charities and of course money.
Whatever the answers may be none of the activities should have been allowed to continue all this time until he was dead.
He should have been named and shamed. People will remember this for many years. 'The evil that men do lives after them' quote from a reading.
