Mike explores a combination of abstract shapes and forms within both an urban and rural context, using oils and pastels.
Having previously painted with acrylics, and enjoyed the textural possibilities that they could offer, Mike decided to experiment with oils and pastels. He discovered that a mixture of the two provided him with a means of expression which forms the main body of his most recent works.
Discovering new materials and techniques continues to be a major focus of Mike's artistic output and he is always looking for new pathways to bring his ideas to life.
