This meeting used to be known as the Annual Parish Meeting and is not to be confused with the annual town council meeting that follows afterwards. Unlike a council meeting,there is no requirement to notify anyone in advance that you wish to speak - you can just turn up. Whilst some councillors are present, it is an opportunity for residents to take the floor and exercise a direct and free right to speak about issues that affect your community. This has been advertised on the council noticeboards but NOT the public noticeboards. Why? This is the People's Meeting yet the people's noticeboards do not inform them of this event.

It is on Wednesday 2nd May, at the Folk Hall, High Street,Portishead BS20 6PR. It starts at 7.30 p.m. Don't miss your annual chance to say whatever concerns you as long as it is relevant to Portishead.
