7:30pm-9:00pm
Join our ever-popular annual Owl Prowl with Wild Owl expert Ian McGuire, in search of the favourit owl haunts in the Cemetery.
Picture the scene: A winter's brisk evening, fresh and perky, walking around the beautiful, serene 45 acre site, the scent of vanilla in the air from the Heliotrope flowers, western red cedars smelling of pineapple and your breath freezing in the air in the cold November air. Ian McGuire, from Wild Owl Educational Services, the owl conservationalist and photographer, will guide you around the site.
Learn fascinating facts about native owls as you prowl the cemetery, scour the skyline, listen for owl calls and practise your own "Twit-twooo's". If you're lucky you'll catch a glimpse of these graceful creatures flitting through the night.
A magical evening for adults and children.

In the autumn, tawny owls advertise their presence in their territories by calling at dusk, sending a message to other owls to "keep away". It is this behaviour that we tap in to on the owl prowls as the group call to the cemetery's resident owls to encourage them to fly close to the group.
An owl sighting is virtually guaranteed!
Ian McGuire says "I will be giving an illustrated educational talk about all the British owls as we walk around the cemetery so visitors can understand the different species and conditions they face in their fight to survive".
Arnos Vale Trustee Mary Wood, who is also an ecologist with Avon Wildlife Trust, said: "Wildlife conservation is a high priority as we restroe Arnos Vale. The Owl Prowl gives people a chance to find out more about one of the most magnificent animals living in and around the cemetery".
Suitable for the whole family to enjoy! Children are more than welcome!
Sadly no dogs are allowed on the Owl Prowl.
