February brings the chance for you to enjoy two very different one-act plays from Bristol's leading non-professional theatre group - Kelvin Players.

Starting the night is Harold Pinter's The Lover. Director Bob Havard describes this enigmatic story of marital and sexual tension as a "comedy of mild menace". Centring on the mysteries of sex and identity in an unusual and established marriage risking upheaval, this play and its period setting challenges the audience to understand why, in the more buttoned-up Sixties, the cental couple might choose to allow a third party into their marriage and home.

Later in the evening writer Alex Needham directs the first of his works ever to be staged, and it could hardly be more different. Hilarious and irreverent, Better the Devil sees angels and demons having to meet up and co-operate after the Devil explodes and God goes missing.

Will they manage to reach a compromise and save themselves, the universe and Runcorn? You'll have to watch the show to find out - as the writer says, "it's not big, and it's not clever...but it is funny."

So whether you're a fan of theatre, a Pinter buff or hankering after something brand new, there should be something in this double bill to delight you.
