New for 2013, Centre Spread is an entertaining, monthly edition of quick turnaround, topical theatre. An alternating cast of local performers and an inspiring guest writer offer up engaging and witty response to what is making headlines and breaking news each month.
Written in a week, rehearsed the following week and performed for one night only, Centre Spread is a quick-fire evening of performance. Additional acts contribute through an open mic. Then using performances as a springboard, there is space for audiences to share thoughts and exchange ideas.
A space to meet, ponder and chatter, Centre Spread is an innovative night where the audience is at the centre of relevant theatre.
Get Involved: To sign up for a slot on the open mic, drop an email to centrespreadwardrobe@gmail.com stating what you would like to do, how it relates topically and what form it will take. Everything from spoken word through to performance art (and all that falls in between) is welcome. In Centre Spread’s style of a quick turnaround, slots will be limited to a maximum of 10 minutes.
