Weston College's taking action to face up to redundancy
As one of the largest training providers in the South West, the college is offering the 'Response to Redundancy Service' for employers and employees.
It enables those taking part to get funding to help cushion the impact of redundancy.
The service is open to businesses of all sizes and sectors.
Peggy Tovey, head of the centre, said: "We are playing a key role in building a stronger community and we see ourselves at the frontline in helping people who have lost their jobs or are facing redundancy get back into training, education and ultimately back into work - particularly during the recession.
"Our aim is to keep the time people spend out of work to a minimum.
"We want to encourage people across the South West to take full advantage of the services we offer and the vast training opportunities available to help people reshape their future."
The centre has two support options available, one aimed at employers, to help them enhance the skills of employees at risk of redundancy so they are successful in finding their next job.
The second option is aimed at employees at risk of redundancy or recently made redundant, to improve their chances in the job market through short training courses, hastening their return to work.
They can get up to 75 hours of training under this scheme for free.
Anyone interested should contact the college on 01934 411411.
