Trescothick leading Somerset revival against Durham

Thursday, April 30, 2009, 16:16

Somerset produced a much improved batting display on the third day of their LV County Championship match against Durham.

After following on 474 runs behind the champions following yesterday's humiliating 69 all out, Justin Langer's side were 178-1 at tea.

Marcus Trescothick was on 90 not out while James Hildreth had just reached a 112-ball 52 with his tenth boundary.

Play began at 1.45pm with 24 overs lost after morning rain and the pair added 70 runs in 16 overs until a shower removed another 11 overs.

Durham bowled better after that break and 25 more were added in eight overs until an early tea was taken because of more rain.
