Students face 'dragons' den' in business competition

Saturday, March 21, 2009, 07:00

Young entrepreneurs will be presenting their ideas to a panel of 'dragons' at an event in Weston-super-Mare next week.

Students from Baytree, Broadoak, Priory, Worle and Wyvern schools are taking part in the Weston Schools Enterprise 4 U Business Challenge.

The event will take place at the Winter Gardens on March 23 for the second year running.

Its aim is to showcase young people's business and enterprise creativity and skills.

Each school team will have formed a company and produced a business plan.

They will show off their products or services on a trade stand and finally will make a presentation to a panel of judges.

The judging 'dragons' includes Derek Mead of the Mead Group, Carol Burrows of Upper Cut Hair Salon, Brian Ford of Dart Services and Steve Sharp of Bloodhound Solutions.

Each company will be judged on their business plan, their trade stand and also their presentation.
