Playtime makeover at Frampton Cotterell Primary School

Friday, November 06, 2009, 07:00

Playtimes for young schoolchildren in Frampton Cotterell are looking brighter after their playground was given a colourful makeover.

A small group of teachers and parents at Frampton Cotterell CofE Primary School spent a day of the half-term holidays hard at work with paintbrushes.

Their efforts have transformed the tarmac into a vibrant area that lets imaginations run wild.

The play area now boasts a pond with lily pads, a road system for children to use the school trikes on and a row of bright shop fronts. A chess board has been painted for the older children so they can play the game on a large scale. Teacher Victoria Drew, who organised the painting, said: "The transformation in the playground makes it easier to use the area as an extra classroom for the children."
