Man assaulted in Thornbury

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Thornbury on Monday.

The incident happened on Gillingstool at about 11.30pm as the victim was returning home in the direction of Rock Street.

He was approached by four males who pushed him to the floor before stamping on him and kicking him.

The victim suffered a head injury and was taken to Frenchay Hospital.

There are no descriptions of the offenders but police are appealing for witnesses.
