Burborough injury news hits Paulton Rovers

Friday, January 30, 2009, 21:48

Paulton Rovers have suffered a blow to their playoff hopes with the loss of striker Dave Burborough for the rest of the season, after a scan showed a torn cartilage in his hip.

"It's a blow because since he returned to the club midway through this season, after recovering from the horrific knee injury he suffered in his previous spell, he has been in fine form and then unfortunately he suffers this latest injury," manager Andy Jones said.

They are also without Josh Jefferies, who is serving a one match suspension for five bookings, which rules him out of today's game at seventh-placed Gosport Borough.

Struggling Taunton Town manager Ian Jones is hoping to hold onto former Stevenage Borough youngster Luke Cole until the end of the season despite the interest of Bath City manager Adie Britton.

"I have spoken to Adie already and will be having another chat with him next week and Luke is quite happy to stay with us until the end of the season and commit himself to Bath next season," Jones revealed.

Taunton central defender Owen Irish is expected to complete his long drawn out move to Truro City today and Jones is without Charlie Welsh for today's home clash against Didcot Town due to a hamstring injury.

Scott Thomas is ruled out due to a ban, but John Harris returns from his suspension.
