Bristol man in court over stun guns

Tuesday, April 07, 2009, 07:00

A 29-year-old Bristol man appeared in court on Monday accused of importing stun guns he planned to sell.

Steven Davies, of Nover's Park Road, Knowle, did not enter pleas to charges of trying to import a Blast Knuckle 950kv stun gun and seven Cheetah 150kv stun guns between November 27, 2007 and December 12, 2008.

Nor did he enter pleas to charges relating to producing of cannabis, possession of cannabis and possession of an adapted weapon.

Mark Humphries, prosecuting, said it was alleged Davies bought the items online and intended to sell them on for profit but the guns were instead intercepted at Heathrow Airport.

Davies was released on unconditional bail. He will be committed to Bristol Crown Court on June 1.
