Thursday, December 04, 2008, 18:33

High Sheriff of Bristol Professor Richard Hodder Williams has opened Badminton School's new boarding house.

Sanderson House, the new, three-storey facility, is home for 94 boarders in years 9, 10 and 11 (aged 13-16). It offers girls boarding including light and airy bedrooms with study and IT facilities, under-floor heating, modern bath and shower rooms, common rooms and kitchen facilities plus staff accommodation.

Headmistress Jan Scarrow said: "We listened to what both our boarders and day girls wanted in terms of facilities, IT provision, comfort and design and have worked with top class architects and interior designers to make this vision a reality.

"The girls are really enjoying living and working in it."
