Once known as the Thornbury Grammar School, Marlwood School in Alveston is a comprehensive secondary school that has specialist Science College status due to the consistent excellence achieved by its students in that subject. The college also has been awarded “Beacon” status by the UK government, an award which signifies that academic results achieved there are outstanding.
This secondary school in Bristol follows the tagline of “Working together for excellence” and crafts its teaching methods and curriculum to match this ethos.
This school also contains a very popular Bristol sixth form division, in which approximately 200 pupils are currently studying AS, A levels and BTEC qualifications.
