Tuesday, June 09, 2009, 10:00

The corks were popping at Dundry when St Aldhelms celebrated a unique treble.

They became the first club to win the Suburban League championship, The Alf Bosley Memorial Trophy and Fry Club Cup. And the team celebrated in style during their annual presentation evening.

Saints pipped CTK Southside for the Premier Division crown with victory against their main rivals in the last game of the season. They followed this up by beating Fishponds Old Boys in the Bosley final and completed the treble by winning on penalties against Lebeq at Frys.

Striker Richard Griffiths was the choice of manager John Berry as first team Player of the Year, while goalkeeper Stuart Jones received a similar accolade as Player's Player of the Year. Rory Thomas and Mike Bamfield shared the reserve team award from boss Colin Milkins and "A" side manager Alex Hawker nominated Jay Reece as his Player of the Year.

The award winners were Luke Dagger (Reserve Players' Player of the Year), Carlo Maniglia ("A" side Players' Player of the Year), Martin Windows, Tony Withers and Dave Hjarne (Joint Clubmen of the Year) and Secretary Dan Keeping (Wookey Trophy).
