A display that made me cringe
ANDY Champion was definitely not alone in his view of our contribution to the closing ceremony ("Embarrassed by our paltry contribution", Open Lines, August 26).
I felt our "welcome to Britain and the 2012 Olympics" was both embarrassing, outdated and totally lacking in imagination.

I'd rather not think about what message it may have sent to the rest of the world.
If this is a sample of what we may expect, then I think I will book a faraway vacation in August 2012.
