“Pinkstone sounds like a right misery. For a start, Rovers prices are about average for League 2, certainly not the highest in the division. Also I'm not aware of how his stepson could watch Man United for "just a bit extra". Last time I got a ticket it was over £40 plus travel to and from Manchester, so the comparison does not stand up at all.

Whether you watch Premir League or League 2, you still get 90 minutes of play and if you support your local club (which Pinkstone obviously does not, or the prices would not be a surprise to him) you just have to pay the prices.

I reckon all Rovers supporters "got their moneys worth" on New Years Day.”

“Yep, I don't think Man U will let you in for "a few quid more".

Also, 3 trips to the cinema? Where is this cinema, as I'd like to go. It's £8 a pop at Vue Longwell Green...”

“This kind of attitude from the thread opener is absolutely useless for Bristol football and while i'm at it rugby.Too many Man U etc football shirts on show in this town, instead of the blue & white quarters or Citys red and white/black.A season ticket at eg Rovers can work out at about £12.50 a game, which by todays standards ain't bad.
If more Bristolians followed/attended Rovers or City games then the chances are Bristol could have two top division football clubs.I really can't take the thread opener and his/her sort seriously.Same goes for the rugby fans who suddenly disapeared on the clubs relegation!Where are you now?
I suppose we'll see a load of these type turn up at the UWE if Rovers get it built.Fair play,i hope they show up,but it would be nice if they got abit of practice in now,at the Mem!”

“We certainly don't want these type of people at the Mem.

Have they even gone through the initiation ceremony to make sure they've got the Rovers Spirit ? No other religious sect allows followers to just turn up and pay eighteen quid to get in let alone complain about it afterwards. Someone better have a word with Archbishop Higgs.”

“Pinkstone - I bet your step son's other team is Spain. I hope your nickname for him is Glory Hunter. If he has actually ever been to manchester, he'd be able to tell you that £18 will just about get you a cup of tea and a pie in the Premier League. If we all took your attitude, 90% of clubs would close down and you would be left with a league made up of about half a dozen teams. How exciting.

It takes weak characters to be glory hunters and strong characters to support their local team, no matter how appalling they can be. I'm proud to say I class myself as one of the latter.”

“He didn't include the cost of getting from Bristol to Manchester,so it would amount to more than "a little bit extra". At least we get the real football fans at the Mem,you have to be to put up with what we have had to endure at times!”

“I think the thing to take on board here is that the guy is looking for entertainment - in which case he would be better off at Man U or wherever (if he likes goals he could try Ashton Gate - mostly in our net). We all know that the £18 buys you moaning rights, excitement, joy or depths of despair, debating with people next to you etc. but only if you care...

You can't classify him as a fan or supporter like most of you on here - like me you don't choose your team it chooses you and you stick with them good or bad. Much as I can't rest when City are playing, because I'm not at the ground I'm not by definition a fan or supporter either, just a carer I suppose.”

“he is a paying customer so BRFC need to listen to his opinion.

    However.....

    - He must be going the Orpheus. Or maybe the Odeon in 2002
    - he could havE got £2 off each ticket by buying in advance
    - depnding on how old his step-son is there is a decent chance e could have got a cheaper ticket than that for hiM
    - MY ST is £260 for the Blackthorn, whch I think is an excellent price.
    - Gas have tried several incentives over the last few seasons. Might be best for him and his step-son to wait for these games.
    - Man U for a few quid more is simply not true

HE SAW US WIN. THAT IS PRICELESS :-)”
