“the siren you hear is either the fire station or when I worked at the hospitals a siren would go off as a fire alert,also there is a siren that alarms when there is an industrial incident at avonmouth.Every wednesday at the the hospital would be the testing time for the siren but have not heard it for some time now.”

“Frenchay hospital used to have an 'air raid siren' which was the Major Incident alert - tested midday every Wednesday. This was replaced by pager alerts a few years ago now...”

“I live in the Filton / Patchway area and every so often maybe twice a year I hear what sounds like an air raid siren. I'm 33 and can remebember hearing this many times over the years and always wondered what it was. Can anyone out there help solve this mystery please.”
