““Why cant one eat the fish what he catches on the rivers? As i pay a fishing licence to fish the waters,but i can fish the sea for no yearly fee and i can take home and eat what i want from the sea,why not the fresh water? I no i can pay hunderouse fees for salmon fishing or a bit of trout,i have some very old recpies showing how to cook carp,breem,roach even a french recipe for gudgeon,chub,and many other species witch we catch in our rivers,what is wrong with taking them if they will make a great dish? As i enjoy foraging from the english country side i think we are forgetting what can make a great dish.I think we have lost a lot of our own cuisine.””
