“i second that his music is soul inspiring and timeless.
when my baby was born my partner bought a music soother which had the music on,,it was so relaxing and beautiful..i played it a lot.
the music he plays is cheerful. enjoyable and can make you feel happy and good.
some artists these days pick up awards for singing one song. or running twice in the olympics or staring in one film.
aker has for many years given out much pleasure so should be rewarded as we are from him.”

“Acker (Somerset slang for "friend") Bilk took up the clarinet whist serving in the British Army Royal Engineers. When discharged from the Army he took up blacksmithing but soon gave that up and joined Ken Colyer. In 1958 he formed The Paramount Jazz Band and in 1961 recorded that memorable song "Stranger on the Shore," which became a hit over the pond where it became the number one song for the year 1962. A great musician who has not slowed down and has appeared with some of the greats in music during his 50 plus year career. He deserves any honor given.”
“Isn't it about time someone on high recognised Acker Bilks lifelong talent, time after time I hear Stranger on the shore be it in adverts or on the radio.Surely he deserves a knighthood or something ..”
