“There's a worrying notice at the top of Park Street (as you turn down it) warning of roadworks from the Downs to here from Jan 2012, The end date was either March or May I think which struck me as more gridlock and the usual council lethargy about getting things done.

We never wanted this and as most of the road from Black Boy Hill looks set to become one lane in each direction the Lib Dem legacy is going to be horrendous. But don't forget if you can afford the bus fare it will be around 30seconds quicker. Just more infuriating for everyone else with main through route in lockdown.”

“I believe the finish date is around May, good luck to anyone trying to run a business (its outrageous that these selfish traders employ local people). I recently tried to navigate my way to Harold Hockey on Black Boy Hill, after about 40mins I turned round went home and ordered what I wanted over the web from a company in Liverpool.

What a benefit to Bristol this must be.”

I bet it won't! The buses will be held up in the traffic jams it produces.

And I'm certain it'll be finished by Easter - not necessarily this Easter, mind...”

    “Dear @TimKent

We're glad to see that you've started posting on this website again. As you know, in Fishponds & Whiteladies Road we've had problems with the following:

    • Badly run consultations.
    • Unwanted traffic calming measures.
    • The council not listening to residents' concerns.

As you have had previous success fighting irresponsible (stupid) council decisions we were wondering if you could help us with the following:

    • how to re-run a consultation properly.
    • how to get unwanted traffic calming measures removed.
    • how to blame the councilors responsible.
    • how to encourage and take notice of local community activists.

    . . . using terms such as . . .

    ". . . installed at a cost of £2 to the city's taxpayers . . . causing road rage, accidents & misery . . ."
". . . where sticky-out bus stops have been installed, traffic no longer moves freely."
"If traffic calming measures are removed ambulances would go straight through, without delays."

You know the sort of thing, it's all here in your video:
