Wanted - design for police Christmas card

Youngsters across the Avon and Somerset area can win the chance to design this year's police Christmas card.

An invitation has been sent out to all the schools in the force area, and children in Years 3-6 have the chance to see their design on the front of hundreds of cards sent out by the police this Christmas.

The winner and his or her classmates will receive a 'police experience' day at the force headquarters in Portishead, where they will meet the police dogs and horses, try on police uniforms, enjoy a tea party with Santa Claus and see the first copy of their card printed.

There will also be a winner for each district, whose design will be made into a Christmas card for the district commander to send out.
