Monday, November 16, 2009, 07:00

A gang of three men forced their way into the home of an 89-year-old woman and stole £210 and a disabled badge.

The men, all dressed in dark clothing, struck at the pensioner's home in Chapel Hill, Newport, near Berkeley, about 8pm on Friday.

PC Terri-Marie McVeigh, of Dursley police, said: "This incident would have been extremely distressing for anyone, let alone someone of the victim's age.

"We would urge anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area and has not yet spoken to us to come forward."

Anyone with information should phone 0845 090 1234.
