Bottom club DRG hold high-flying Slimbridge

Gloucestershire County League: Bottom side DRG Stapleton held Slimbridge to a surprise 1-1 draw.

DRG took the lead after six minutes when Conrad Mignott headed in a corner.

Slimbridge's Gary Ash then nipped in ahead of keeper Chris Telfer to level.

The home side again surprised when they took a 2–1 lead in the 17th minute with a brilliantly placed shot from Conrad Mignott.

Slimbridge thought they had equalized when Ed Ward scored with a great volley only to be given off-side.

The second half saw Slimbridge apply the pressure, and they eventually levelled after 67 minutes when a free-kick from Wellon was missed by Telfer and Ian Preece netted to seal a draw.

Yate Town Reserves picked up three points with a 2 – 0 home win over Bishop's Cleeve Reserves.

Jack Smyth opened the scoring in the 40th minute and Yate sealed their win with a Justin Cattle penalty.

Taverners caused another upset to the form book with a win at Henbury. Russell Chamberlain grabbed the only goal of the game to seal a 1-0 win.

Ten-man Chipping Sodbury Town won at B&W Avonside.

Chris Reuben opened the scoring after 10 minutes for the home side and in the 60th minute Sodbury had Lee Pendry dismissed. This inspired Sodbury and Paul Harris netted in the 70th minute.

They sealed the win through Laurence Dorman's free-kick.

King's Stanley went joint top of the County league with a 4–1 win over Highridge United.

Stanley took the lead through Tony Francis, and Martin McDermott doubled their lead.

McDermott netted twice more to seal his hat-trick, before Highridge's Micky Adams got their only goal.

Thornbury Town continued their good form with a 4–0 win over high flying Axa.

Steve Rice netted twice to put Thornbury 2-0 up. Troy Monks then got their third before Sam Lippiatt got the fourth from the penalty spot.

Patchway Town stormed into a three goal lead in their clash with Tuffley Rovers.

Matt Fowler and two Paul Francis efforts putting Town well in front. But in the next 17 minutes Tuffley made it 3-3 through a Stuart Jenkins own goal, a Ben Surman penalty and a Chris Lee goal.

In the 85th minute Patchway thought they had won when Searle netted, but Rob Cook netted in injury time to steal a point and a 4-4 draw.
