Toolstation League previews:

Longwell Green Sports believe they have an ace up their sleeves following the arrival of a Bristol Premier Combination 'unknown'.

Sports, who put their six-game unbeaten run on the line at Bristol Manor Farm tomorrow, have recruited attacking midfielder Scott Oakley, an "exciting prospect" according to general manager John Gibbs, from Nicholas Wanderers.

"We want to get Scott involved as quickly as possible because he's looking the part," said Gibbs. "We're keen to keep our run going but Manor Farm are scoring goals for fun and they're sure to be in the title running."

Brothers Lee and Ross Vickerman return to the Longwell Green defence while Farm, who have won their last four games, are without midfielder Kyle Thomas.

Brislington boss Jeff Meacham insists he will stick by a successful tactical switch for the home game against rapidly-improving Hallen.

Meacham, who has centre- half Jason Hughes back after illness, ditched his usual three-man central defence in favour of a flat back four for last weekend's 2-0 victory over Bideford and he said: "It seemed to suit us. We were able to keep the ball better using the full-backs."

Hallen are keen to build on an encouraging run of form, although Wednesday's 2-1 defeat at Bishop Sutton was a disappointment.

Manager Gary Domone said: "Having something like a full-strength squad to pick from is making a massive difference. Tom Collett, George Brimson and Justin Pritchard are all looking sharp up front now and it's settled us down nicely."

Welton Rovers manager Mark Harrington has acted swiftly after losing four central defenders – Timmy Thompson, Nick Beaverstock, Alex Brain and Greg Dando (suspended) – for the trip to Calne Town.

Harrington has persuaded Frome Town to part with their centre-back Michael Reaney on a dual registration deal to ease the crisis as Welton bid to close to within a point of leaders Ilfracombe with victory in Wiltshire tomorrow.

Andy Black has completed the signing of Oldland Abbotonians' teenage centre-back Joe Chandler.

"Joe is a good young prospect and has the potential to do well at this level," said Black, who recalls Matt Tiley to his squad for the game at Larkhall Athletic.

In the First Division, Oldland assistant manager Martin Cutler has praised the efforts of his in-form side ahead of their game at Almondsbury UWE.

"The new players have settled in very well, particularly Danny Bryant, who has been a tower of strength at the back. Matt Huxley and Simon Dew are also hitting top form at the other end and it's boding well," said Cutler.

Clevedon United go to Devizes Town relieved to have ended a wretched run of five defeats with a 3-2 midweek home success against Elmore, while Portishead Town visit third-placed Odd Down.
