Get arty this half-term with special events for kids at Bristol Museum

Children can take part in a series of art-based activities next week during half term.

The Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery's portraits activity days will take place on Tuesday, October 27 and Wednesday,October 28, from 10.30am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-4pm.

Children can create their very own masterpieces inspired by portraits on display in the art galleries and in the museum's latest free exhibition, The End of the Line: Attitudes in Drawing, which looks at different ways of drawing.

On Sunday, November 1, from 10.30am to 4pm, the museum is inviting children to learn about the science of light with craft and handling activities.

As well as these activities, there are plenty of things to do for families at the museum, including trails, family resource areas and much more.

The museum's new area for children aged seven and under is now open, with lots of interactive activities for young children and their parents and carers to take part in.

At the harbourside, the historic steam trains will be taking their lasts trips of the year on Saturday, October 25, Sunday, October 26, Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1.

The train will depart from the ss Great Britain on the harbourside every 40 minutes from 11am-5pm.

Prices are £3 for a return and £2 for a single.

Children under six can go for free and ss Great Britain ticket holders receive £1 off.
