How to celebrate 100 years of Page Park?

I noted with interest that South Gloucestershire is seeking suggestions on how to celebrate the centenary of Page Park (Kingswood) next year.

Perhaps we can hear from Bristol City councillors if there are any planned events to mark this year's centenary of Canford Park in Westbury-on-Trym. Could it be they are unaware this park was first opened to the public in 1909? A double pair of arched gates as a new entrance would, in my opinion, be a fitting tribute to mark this important event. (Gold leaf paint, please, on the gates).

The proposed entrance adjacent to the library would not only "open up" this park, but would enhance the view to visitors travelling towards the city, replacing the present hotch-potch of plantings, concrete, street furniture – best described as an eyesore.

“Correct, Page Park is in Staple Hill not Kingswood, but it is true that SGC are consulting with the Friends of Page Park & others over ways to celebrate its centenary in 2010.
The Friends of Page Park are looking for more proactive members so if you live in or near Staple Hill & wish to join the Friends of Page Park group please e mail me your details”
