It is a real shame you were disappointed with your experience and didn't feel you could come and speak to the team at the time so that we could improve matters. All bread is bought daily so i'm surprised it wasn't fresh, it's good to hear your feedback so we can check the quality - if you had commented at the time then it would have been rectified immediately. All comments are shared with the team to ensure we keep improving. ”

No atmosphere. Bland.

“Me and my friends were looking forward to trying Cafe Sixty Five today but unfortunately we were very disappointed. We walked in and to be honest we nearly walked straight back out. Rather than being greeted we were ignored by all 3 members of staff. There was no atmosphere what so ever and felt more like a dentist waiting area than a cafe!

We thought we should give it a chance though and ordered food. I had a sandwich and chips on the side. The bread did not taste very fresh and I did not eat it all. The chips were very nice though. Not once were we asked if our food was ok and we had to collect our own cutlery.

Overall the service was poor. The food was bland and overpriced. All three of us said we would not be returning.”

“Sonya, I am very sorry to hear you found your experience disappointing and that you won't be returning. Our emphasis at Cafe No Sixty Five is on quality rather than quantity so we make sure we source the best ingredients as locally as we can as we feel it's important to know where our produce comes from and that it is excellent. This does mean we are more expensive than other local cafe's but the great thing about Thornbury is that there is choice and options to suit everyone.

We also try to be really clear on our menu as to what you are getting so it does say "a garnish of tomato and mushrooms" to try not to disappoint. As for your comment about the place being cold, it has been an especially cold winter this year and we do have our heating on maximum the entire time we are open, it is however an old building so we are doing everything we can to make it as warm as possible and encourage our customers to sit by the many radiators available.

We value all feedback received and to counter this we have also had lots of positive comments about our breakfast including one from a regular poster on this site who said " Very impressed. A most exquisite breakfast had."

Disappointing!

“Breakfast was small and expensive. Tomatoes equated to a single cherry tomato cut in half and the mushrooms equated to a single mushroom cut into 4! The two hash browns were mini - the size of a 50 pence piece. The place was freezing cold and for £7 there's better to be found in Thornbury. Blend were much better at breakfast, we won't be returning”

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT

“Cafe No Sixty Five can now be found at 65 Thornbury High Street - opening on the 5th January 2013. Any comments on here before our opening date are referencing Blend which is no longer in operation.

We look forward to seeing new customers in the new year”

Great place

“I came to Thornbury last weekend and had a really lovely coffee in Blend. I am pregnant so drink decaf and they took extra care to make sure I was given the decaf and not the normal coffee! Nice place and good prices. I would like to eat in here next time. ”

Blend all the way

“What a great Coffee shop blend is. Blend is located at the top of the high street near to the bus stop which is perfect for me to pop in for a coffee whilst waiting for the bus back to alveston. great prices great staff.”
