Bristol entrepreneur's brighter Outlook

Wednesday, November 25, 2009, 07:00

A Bristol entrepreneur has launched a service to help people get more out of Microsoft Outlook.

Mark Ashton, of Workflows, Temple Quay, said: "It's unbelievable that many companies have never made any effort to improve their employees' skill in using this tool.

"Many workers are slaves to email and it's become worse during the recession due to staff shortage. Only the most efficient companies will survive but they're not addressing this huge problem."

Workflows, which trains staff at firms to use Microsoft Outlook more efficiently, was set up because Mark believed people had been using Outlook incorrectly for years.

He added: "Everybody is expected to use Outlook but rarely does anyone receive training on how to use it properly. Our training is a revolutionary shift in the way we manage our everyday working life.

"People live in Outlook –it's the first thing they open in the morning and the last thing they close down at night.

"So it's an incredible waste of time, as well as money, that few people use it effectively."

Mark believes his Bristol company offers a unique service in the UK.
