Have you say on plans to give Bristol school trust status

Saturday, November 14, 2009, 07:00

People are being given the chance to have their say on plans to turn Bedminster Down School into a trust school.

The local authority comprehensive in Donald Road is considering the move, which would bring in a number of partners to help support the school. A trust school owns its buildings, employs the staff directly and sets its own admissions policy.

But Bedminster Down's governors have stressed they have no wish to change the admission arrangements or the pay and conditions for staff.

Consultation meetings have taken place for parents and pupils. Staff can have their say on Monday and the wider community, including feeder primaries and community groups, are invited to a consultation meeting on Wednesday, at 6pm.
