Yeovil Town set to seal the deal for Rodgers
The free agent striker travelled down to Somerset on Wednesday night with a view to putting pen to paper on a contract until the end of the season in time for Monday's home game with Leicester City.
Slade said on Wednesday: "He is travelling down here tonight and we hope he will be signing tomorrow."
Rodgers' long awaited signing will mean manager Russell Slade will be able to name 15 professionals for the Sky-televised clash.
The manager has viewed footage of the incident that led to Terry Skiverton's red card for elbowing Andy Wright during Tuesday's 2-1 defeat to Scunthorpe United.
He said: "I have no complaints with the decision. The matter will be dealt with internally."
Club captain Skiverton, who has been booked just once this season, will now serve a three-match ban.
Yeovil Town midfielder Lee Peltier is also suspended for the Foxes clash.
