Somerset stalled by rain against Warwickshire

Thursday, May 14, 2009, 14:15

Unbeaten Group B leaders Somerset continued their good start to this year’s tournament by reaching 135 for two against Warwickshire until rain stopped play at Taunton.

Marcus Trescothick and Arul Suppiah made for a handy opening partnership and having passed the half-century together, before the latter was caught for an individual 16.

But Trescothick, who hit 144 on Monday against Scotland, soldiered on alongside James Hildreth to take Somerset over 100 for the loss of a single wicket, and he had made an unbeaten 84 by the time the heavens opened.
