A teenager was assaulted on the platform at Weston-super-Mare railway station.

The incident took place at about 4.30pm on Sunday when a 16-year-old boy from Colchester, Essex, was at the station with his 17-year-old girlfriend, who is from Weston-super-Mare, when they became involved in an argument with a man and a woman. The man is believed to have struck the victim on the head before leaving the station with the woman.

The victim and his girlfriend then caught a train to Colchester before reporting the incident to police the following morning. British Transport Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed anything. Call 0800 405040, quoting log 134 of 24/08, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
