Forest Green suspend defender Hardiker

Defender John Hardiker has been suspended by Forest Green Rovers for what the club calls "matters which are unrelated to Forest Green Rovers Football Club Limited, or any of its management and staff."

The player has 14 days to respond to the ban, and so will miss today's home game wth Oxford United.

Midfielder Jonathan Smith returns to the squad after suspension.

Devon businessman Steve Beer is expected to make a donation of £300,000 to Weymouth in the next few days – a gesture that should stave off the threat of administration.

Boss Alan Lewer's side had been bolstered by the inclusion of two of the original first-teamers – Stephen Reed and Cameron Mawer – who have yet to find new clubs, and a sprinkling of young loan players brought in at the last minute.

Tomorrow they face Crawley Town and Reed and Mawer look set to start again alongside others Lewer has had to beg, steal and borrow from during another week full of activity off the field.

"All the players are now fit and available and we have been playing well to get a couple of good results and hopefully we can continue this decent run in today' s home clash against a good side," Holmes said.
