Saturday, June 13, 2009, 07:00

YOUNG actors put on their turbans and colourful costumes as they rehearsed for a production of The Snake Charmer.

The show will be one of three to be staged by the Helen O'Grady Drama Academy at Red Maids School, Westbury- on-Trym, next month.

It involves 23 boys and girls from across the city, all aged between five and eight, who attend drama classes at the academy.

The other shows to be performed on the night will be The Cleanest Town in Texas, featuring children aged nine to 12, and the youth theatre group's production of Jason and the Golden Fleece. The youth section is for teenagers up to the age of 18.

Academy principal, Alison Mazanec, said the show would be held on Wednesday, July 15, from 7pm-9pm. Tickets cost £4 for adults and £1 for children and they can be bought at the door on the night.
