Bristol's Sambucetti gets Pumas call-up

Friday, October 30, 2009, 07:00

Bristol lock Mariano Sambucetti has been named in the Argentina squad for their forthcoming Tests against England, Wales and Scotland.

The 30-year-old, who won the last of his 11 caps in 2005, will link up with the Pumas after Bristol Rugby's Championship match at Plymouth on November 7 and return to the club after November 29.

He is set to miss three matches – the league game against Nottingham and British and Irish Cup matches at Neath and Munster A.

Bristol head coach Paul Hull said: "We are obviously delighted for Mariano. Playing for your country is a huge honour and we wish him well during the autumn series."

Sambucetti will miss Bristol Rugby's Championship match against Coventry this evening (7.45pm) because of an ankle injury.
