Former Bristol Rugby coach Hill takes job in France

Thursday, July 02, 2009, 07:00

Former Bristol Rugby head coach Richard Hill is to take over at French third-tier club Chalon-sur-Saone.

Out of work since leaving Bristol in February, Hill had previously been linked with French Top 14 outfit Montauban.

But it has now been confirmed he will be taking over the reins at Chalon-sur-Saone, who play in Pool One of the six-pool, 48-club Federale One league, two tiers below the top flight.

Former England scrum-half Hill, who spent almost six years at the Memorial Stadium and took Bristol Rugby from National League One in 2003 to a third-placed finish in the Guinness Premiership in 2007, has signed a two-year deal with the Burgundy club.
