Travel Information

Ashton Gate is located at Ashton Road, Bristol BS3 2EJ.

By Car: From all directions leave the M5 at junction 18, take the Portway (A4) down through the Avon Gorge following signs for Bristol Airport and Taunton (A38). Cross the swing bridge (Brunel Way) and branch left into Winterstoke Road (signed A38). You will see the ground on your left.

By Train:

Parson Street - the nearest station to the ground. It is a 10-minute walk from Ashton Gate but few trains stop there. Temple Meads - Bristol's main train station. More than two miles from Ashton Gate. At least 45 minutes on foot. Taxi - Around £6 from the taxi rank outside the station. Bus - Abus "Service A" pick up from Temple Meads one hour before the match and cost £1. They return after the game from Ashton Road by the Greville Smyth Park.

By Bus:

Abus "Service A" pick up from Temple Meads Station, Old Market (Temple Way), Haymarket, City Centre, Anchor Road and Hotwells one hour before the match and cost £1. They return after the game from Ashton Road by the Greville Smyth Park behind the Atyeo Stand (£1 each way).

By Plane:

Bristol International airport is 15 minutes by car from Ashton Gate.
National Express run a regular service between Bristol Bus Station and the airport. Call 08705 808080 or go to www.nationalexpress.com The Bristol International Flyer runs every 15 minutes from the airport to Bristol Temple Meads at peak times. STADIUM STANDS:

Blackthorn Atyeo Stand - Covered, all seater, single tiered stand. Opened in 1994. Features a small band in the corner. Micra Wedlock Stand - Seats up to 2,800 away supporters.
Dolman Stand - Single tiered but divided into an upper and lower section (family area). The lower area is largely open to the elements. Williams Stand - Single tiered stand with several supporting pillars.

NEW STADIUM:

Bristol City have bought up nearby land and are preparing planning proposals for a 30,000 seater stadium with an option to increase it to 42,500 if Bristol is included as a host city in England's 2018 World Cup bid. The new stadium is currently due to be compelted for the start of the 2011/12 season.

FOOD INSIDE GROUND:

Football's famous CHicken Balti Pie £2.20
Alcohol is not available to away fans inside the ground.

LOCAL RIVALS

Bristol Rovers and Cardiff City
Cheltenham Town and Swindon Town share the same nickname (the Robins) and are South West rivals.
