| I am the Evening Post transport correspondent. Writing anything about transport in Bristol leaves you in a difficult position. On the one hand, you have a privileged insight into the vision for the city's transport network and on the other, you have a duty to reflect and sympathise with the views of a readership often frustrated at the standard of our roads and public transport. |
I cover local government for the Evening Post. These days, despite their slogans, councils don't have the power or the money they once had to "make a difference". I'm hoping with this blog to share some thoughts on politics and how parties and politicians play it. | I have been the Evening Post's education correspondent since September 2005. I have chronicled the considerable improvements in the city's schools during that time and highlighted some of the ongoing problems. I have three grown-up daughters and am a primary school governor in South Gloucestershire. | ||

| Being head of sport in a city with three professional teams, two of them rivals, has its ups and downs, and many pitfalls. It’s also a great place to be a sports journalist. | I started this blog when I set myself the goal of losing eight stone because a lot of guys are faced with a similar challenge. Not long after starting this journey I discovered that men are not great at dealing with health issues and problems, particularlty weight gain. So it would be great to hear from other people in my situation as I don't think the diet industry does much for guys. . |
