Why not give birthday gift for hospice?
CHILDREN'S Hospice South West and children's play venue PlaySpace have teamed up to launch a children's birthday service in the South West.
The online service enables families to donate to their favourite charity when they celebrate a birthday.
Children can build a dream present wish list and also choose a charity they would like to support.
The service can be found at www.timto.co.uk.
Harry Stevens, the owner of PlaySpace, said: "We are always looking to find fun ways of adding a new dimension to our birthday parties. The option for guests to now use the Timto (There Is More To... birthdays) service means we can help charities such as Children's Hospice South West (CHSW), which is a great thing that I am delighted to be able to encourage."
Nathan Cornish, co-founder of Timto, said: "We aim to make birthday parties even more fun and bring a real feel-good factor to children's celebrations. We identified that over £200 million per annum is spent on birthday party presents that are never used. So we hope to help redistribute some of this expenditure towards quality presents and a donation to a charity, such as CHSW."
Kate Fisher, of Children's Hospice South West, said: "We are thrilled to team up with Timto and PlaySpace on this exciting new idea.
"All the money donated to Children's Hospice South West will help us to be able to continue to provide care to over 185 families in the local area at Children's Hospice South West's North Somerset hospice, Charlton Farm.
"Through harnessing the support of the local community, we can help to make a real difference to the lives of life-limited children and their families."
