Ashton climb into top spot
Goals from Jayde Cook and Chloe Shipway saw Ashton home in an excellent game.
Brislington A Under-12s gained a deserved 2-0 win over a well-organised Mendip side with two late goals.
Mia Williams lashed home from distance to give the visitors the lead and Sophie Allen secured the points with a neat finish after being set up by a brilliant cross from Chloe Smith.
Bristol Ladies Union A Under-11s continued their superb start to the season with a 6-0 win over previously undefeated Portishead.
Their midfield trio of Lizzie Burton, Briony Wills and Rosanna Boxall were in outstanding form, with Burton grabbing her second hat-trick of the season, Wills scoring twice and Boxall notching the other goal.
Union's defensive duo of Adie Bailey-Douglas and Anna Hubble performed powerfully, allowing Portishead only a couple of opportunities, while Ellie Courtiour, Eloise Quinlan and Aoife Smith all played their part in an excellent team performance.
For Portishead, Kyla Probert battled hard in midfield, starting several moves involving Chelsea Hill, Emily Smith, Izzy Batchelor and Sophie Dumine. Defenders Rosie Collings, Phoebe Williams, Eloise Hubbard and keeper Aimee Morgan also did some good things and some good chances were created, but luck was not on Portishead's side.
It was one-way traffic too as Union's B team blitzed Bradley Stoke 16-0 with every member of the team scoring at least once apart from player-of-the-match Anisha Cullen, who set up countless opportunities with her unselfish running and passing.
Frampton Rangers A Under-11s produced a magnificent attacking show to beat battling Longwell Green 6-0.
The scoreline could have been greater but for some near-misses and superb work from the Longwell keeper.
Annie Lewis opened the scoring with Jess Jefferies (2), Chloe Bragg, Paige Botta and Chloe Fuller completing the victory. Keeper Hariye Beydilli, defender Rosie Williams and midfielders Maddison Buss, Ellie Todd and Lauren Penny didn't get on the scoresheet but all played their part in a fine display.
Backwell Athletic Under-11s maintained their 100 per cent record with a fifth straight win and a 24-0 thrashing of Frampton Rangers C.
Understrength Frampton could not cope with Backwell's fast-flowing style, as goals came at regular intervals from Sarah Page (6), player-of-the-match Carys Hector (5), Lauren Malone (3), Catriona Coates (3), Ellie Bray (2), Chloe Taylor (2), Hannah Simms, Lizzie Johnstone and an own goal.
Fast-improving Fry Club Under-11s showed their fighting qualities by twice bouncing back to earn a 2-2 draw against Downend.
Visitors Downend took the lead after five minutes with a sizzling strike.
Fry's, driven on by the inspirational Sophia Urch, responded quickly through Courtney Long to make it 1-1 at the interval. Once more the away side edged ahead but Fry's kept battling and Lauren Smith's searing shot saved the day for them.
St Nicholas Under-10s kept their unbeaten record intact with a superb 5-0 win over Longwell Green.
Katie Hudson opened the Saints scoring before going on to register her second hat-trick of the season. Scarlett Smith scored her first goal of the campaign with a well-struck shot from outside the area before Amber Channelle's free-kick found its way into the net off the fingertips of the Longwell keeper.
A second hat-trick of the season from Annabelle Colston, and a player-of-the-match performance from Lucy Rance, provided the platform for Portishead Juniors Under-13s' impressive 5-1 victory over Gloucester City.
Colson's left-footed opener was soon followed by a fine strike from the edge of the box by Charlotte Joyner, her fourth goal of the season.
With Gloucester keeping eight players behind the ball, the home side had to be patient to extend their lead, which came from a penalty. Jennie Mistry, who won the award, netted from the spot to extend Juniors' lead.
Colston scored her second of the match early in the second half before Gloucester pulled one back. However, with Leanne Gainey and Sinead Golding working hard in midfield, and Abbie Taylor and Erica Marshall adding security to Portishead's twin centre-backs Ellie Grey and Cadie Dunn, Juniors regained control as Maisie Kincaid found Colston in space to complete her hat-trick with a fierce drive.
Issy Smart led the rout with five goals while Georgia Vandrais (3) and Shania Powell were also on target in AEK Boco A Under-14s' 9-2 win at Southmead.
Amy Hardy fired five of the goals as Longwell Green Under-15s came away from Mangotsfield as 9-2 winners. They didn't have it all their own way to begin with, however, as Mangos started the game well, defending strongly and launching attacks.
Longwell had to up the pace in response and slick passing combinations started to open up the opposition. Chloe Harris, Kelly Preston and Lucy Werrett were involved in some clever movement before handing hot-shot Hardy the chance to drive home their opener.
Michaela Whooley slotted home the second from Hardy's clever pass before Caitlin Saunders lashed the third goal into the roof of the net from Katy Vernon's corner. Hardy provided the fourth goal before half-time and went on to net three more times after the interval, when Whooley completed her hat-trick with two more goals.
Maddie Thomas hit top form with three goals, but her efforts were not enough to stop her Bitton Under-15s team losing 4-3 at Frampton Rangers.
With Frampton high on confidence after slamming Mangotsfield 17-4 a fortnight earlier, Bitton had to work hard to go in at the break trailing only 4-2 thanks to Thomas' first two goals.
The second half started with Bitton pressing and they believed that they could go on and win the game when Thomas completed a magnificent treble with another well-struck shot.
They failed to capitalise on a series of late chances, however, and Frampton held firm for a narrow win.
