Residents having a spring clear-out are encouraged to attend Bath & North East Somerset Council's next Give and Take Day at Saltford Hall, Wedmore Road, Saltford, BS31 3BY on Saturday 12 May 2012 from 10am - 2pm. Residents will have the opportunity to give away reusable items they no longer need or take away things that they do need, all for free.

At previous events residents have donated a variety of items including a car bicycle rack, sets of golf clubs, an inflatable swimming pool, a children's slide, bicycles and a pair of walking boots.

At this event we will be accepting small electrical items for the first time. Please bring along unwanted, small electrical items such as kettles, hairdryers and toasters that are in good working condition. All donated items will be taken away and tested by an electrician to ensure that the items are safe. Items which pass the electrical safety test will be made available for others to take away at our next Give and Take event. Any items that aren't fit for reuse will be recycled.

This week's delicious £5 5 O'CLOCKTAIL is a refreshing Tequila Sunrise. Available everyday from our Bar for only £5 between 5pm & 7pm.

Terms: £5 cocktail applies to the cocktail of the week.

Contact: 0117 2448281

Valid until: Monday, May 27 2013

All residents need to do is bring along their unwanted reusable items and donate them at Saltford Hall from 9am. No donations accepted after 1pm. We will only accept small pieces of furniture or items that will fit into an average sized family car. Badged volunteers will receive, check and sort your items on the day. Everyone is free to browse the collection of donations and take away items, although the Council is encouraging people not to take away more than 10 items.

The aim of the day is to reduce the amount of unwanted household items ending-up in landfill and costing the local taxpayer money in landfill charges, as well as reducing the amount of harmful gases being released into the atmosphere.

The Saltford Community Association Trustees and Volunteers will be selling drinks and homemade cakes on the day. The Council's Waste Campaigns team will be attending to give advice and tips on recycling, home composting and how to save money by reducing the amount of food we throw away.
