Up, up and away for Bristol school's kite fiesta
Pupils at The Grange School and Sports College in Warmley are busy preparing to hold their own kite fiesta.
A total of 180 students in Year 7 are making kites with kite expert Nick James ahead of the event on March 29. The fiesta will be the finale to a two-month-long kite project at the school.

The school secured funding through the Learning Challenge programme to allow kite maker Mr James and Avril Baker from Bristol International Kite Festival to work with pupils and teachers every week.
Students started by making and testing their own small sled kites before moving on to making large hexagonal kites in groups.
They have been learning about kites in other lessons and an exhibition of their work will also be shown at the fiesta, which will take place between 8.30am until 10.30am.
Mr James said: "I've really enjoyed being able to come into the school and work with Year 7 over a number of weeks. The students have learned about the different parts of the kite and how to make the shape and the basic structure before going on to have fun decorating them. We are now all looking forward to the kite fiesta and the chance to fly the kites in front of invited guests."
Steve Cook, head teacher at the school, said: "The kite project has been an excellent example of how linking with creative experts from outside school can bring a whole new dimension to the learning of young people."
