Bristol warehouse murder - third man released on bail

Tuesday, November 03, 2009, 14:15

A 28-year-old man arrested in connection with a robbery and murder in Bristol has been released on bail while inquiries continue.

Two other men, aged 22 and 24, who had also been questioned about the incident were granted bail yesterday.

Senel Mansiz, 30, from Lawrence Weston, who was night manager at M and M Catering Supplies in Avonmouth, collapsed and died shortly after the robbery on Thursday evening.

Detectives say his death was directly linked to being attacked and earlier this week they released CCTV footage of the robbers wearing hoods and masks as they entered the warehouse at about 7.30pm.

Turkish-born Mr Mansiz, who lived in Lawrence Weston with his wife, died from a condition called an aortic stenosis, which means his heart suddenly stopped.

Five men wearing Halloween-style masks over their faces and hooded tops can be seen on the CCTV footage. One of them is carrying what looks like some sort of club.

Paramedics and police were called to the firm's cold storage premises at 7.45pm on Thursday and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

M and M Catering supplies doner kebabs, burgers and pizza bases to the food industry along with sauces, food boxes and cutlery.

Today detectives issued a picture of a safe stolen during the robbery. It may have been dumped and they are appealing for anyone who finds it or knows where it is to contact them on 0845 456 7000.

Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
